I am an award-winning chartered mechanical engineer with over 25 years’ experience in industry and academia. I am an accomplished public affairs and policy specialist; providing consultation and thought leadership to Government, industry, and the public sector on engineering and its contribution to health & care.
My mission is to see innovative medical technology & advanced clinical processes available to, and improve the lives of our global society.
The Care Machine Ltd
Helen founded The Care Machine in 2018 as she recognised there was a growing need for more engineers and engineering methodologies to be incorporated into future healthcare services.
Through The Care Machine, Helen provides engineering consultancy and expert opinion to anyone with a passion for ensuring technology is at the forefront of healthcare provision and who is seeking to create clinical solutions for the right reasons.

The Care Machine collaborates with a wide range of healthcare & medtech organisations across industry and academia. Helen advises clients on subjects including product design & development, regulatory interpretation & provides bespoke management services.

Helen frequently speaks at national & international conferences. She also participates in & hosts panels, webinars & podcasts on issues covering biomedical & clinical engineering, sustainability in healthcare, digital health, and the ageing population.

The Care Machine engages in public affairs and policy research. Helen is frequently commissioned to advise and author blogs, journal articles and in- depth white papers on aspects of engineering in healthcare.
